I SWIM

I swim until there’s no more to swim in.

In what I use to drown in, I float.

Caressed by its fiery mantle, I become its oak, sucking in the very life of its spirit.

Filled with it, I speak truth to those near.

For forty five percent, is the only proof I have.

It’s all I need.

Alive, I remain.

Until the gentle whispers of the silent night come for me.

And when the rays of the light begin to pour in, the spirit leaves me.

Fear of exposure, the spirit abandons me.

Again, I am lost.

I reminisce of the gentle dark waters.

It’s waves of freedom.

I yearn for it.

The night will approach again.

And I again, will go for a swim.
